Malvern 2013 – February Update

‘Return to the Med’ show garden at the Malvern Spring Show, a summary of this month’s activities……..

Cotswold-Estates-and-Gardens-LogoWe found a local landscaper to build our garden, Cotswold Estates & Gardens. We are very excited to be working with Joe and his team on this project, and are especially grateful for his support being so close to the start of the build.

The polished black and white pebbles for the path and decorative edging arrived from CED stone. We will be building the path in pre-cast panels in advance of the garden build. Panel drawings have been made to provide guidance on the dimensions and layout of the pebbles. So next month it will be all hands on to get the path made.

Robin James, a Stroud based mosaic artist will be creating our feature wall, this will start in March. The design will be a picture postcard of a Mediterranean scene, using similar colours and materials to that used in the rest of the garden. We will hopefully get to see the first glimpse of the mosaic in March.

We found some Mediterranean looking shingle from a local Quarry (Knockdown Quarry near Tetbury, Gloucestershire) which we may use in the garden.

Some of the plants will start to arrive at the nursery over the coming weeks, so we may get our first look at them in March. We need the plants to look their best during the show, but it will be anyone’s guess what the weather will be like over the next couple of months, this is one area totally out of our control.

Still quite a bit to do and we are getting ever closer to the start of the build (April 15th).
