This large garden in Bristol had an uninteresting terrace area and water feature, while the rest of the garden consisted of a large lawn with mature tree and shrubs. The owners wanted to transform their garden into an entertaining space which they could enjoy throughout the year with friends and family. They particularly wanted an outdoor kitchen with space for seating (sofas) and dinning, along with a sunken fire pit and swimming pool.
Andrew Jordan created a contemporary design with a large paved space for entertaining, which wraps around the house and leads up to the new swimming pool area. Contemporary grey porcelain paving is used throughout, which is broken up with the introduction of composite decking, as a path and also for the sunken fire pit seating area. A contemporary water feature and rill with stepping stones and floating island with feature tree acts as a focal point which can be enjoyed from inside as well as outside of the house. The sunken fire pit area is clad with timber to compliment the floor and path. Level changes within the main entertaining area add another dimension. The swimming pool has been replaced with a hot tub under a oak framed gazebo. With suitable garden lighting, the garden will be transformed into the perfect place to entertain throughout the year.
Construction of the garden started in December 2017 and continues into the early part of 2018.
