Large Country Garden, Cotswolds

Set in the countryside near Bibury in the Cotswolds, we were asked to transform the large wrap around garden into a space with different “rooms”, including an entertaining area, meditation garden, several places around the garden to sit and relax as well as producing a functional Kitchen Garden.

A beautiful contemporary design with formal elements was created, consisting of a variety of inter-connected spaces for outdoor living and entertainment.

The design includes a large entertaining area with feature trees, a rose garden with traditional water fountain and arches, a Meditation Garden with bespoke Oak Oriental style Gazebo and stone sphere water feature, a Kitchen Garden with greenhouses/ polytunnel and water trough, a contemporary potting shed and gravel driveways and parking area.

A self-binding gravel path takes you on a journey around the garden, connecting the different rooms.

The contemporary character of the interior of the house is carried through to the garden, with sawn natural stone paving and setts used in the large entertaining area and sweeps of naturalistic planting, seamlessly blending the garden with the wider landscape. Bulbs planted en masse around the garden provide a colourful display in Spring and early Summer.
